Making a review of Las Vegas, even if I’ve seen it many times, is not easy. Their is two ways of seeing it, first the supporters of all it stands for, and other people who see it as a place to sleep so close enough to visit the parks of Utah and Arizona. I place myself in the middle. Las Vegas is one of the cities with the highest percent of population in the world. The reason is easy to understand with the entire tourist daily crowding the “strip”. It is a metropolis made essentially of one only street, the “Las Vegas Boulevard” better known as the “STRIP”, with one the two sides the most showiness and exciting hotel complex of the universe. I call them complex because an example, the hotel Casino Venetian counts 4000 rooms and it coasted like a financial maneuvers. Each hotel on the strip have their own theme, it’s a little like having many Disneyland on line one after the other each one with a different conductor. Starting from Luxor that has a light on the point of the pyramid which can be seen from space (as if the UFO want to come on earth to bet some money), The Venetian is a small copy of our Venezia, the Bellegio represents the fifth essence of elegance.

When you arrive to Las Vegas for the first time you remain shocked. The famous saying that in the USA everything is big; there you can see it with your eyes. The hotels are so enormous that to find the reception or the elevator you can loss yourself. LasVegas is two towns in one. During the day it seems semi deserted, but close to sun set every corner lights up in its entire splendor. Not everyone likes Las Vegas with all its exaggeration, but it is one of the places everyone should see ones in their life. You can arrive to Las Vegas either by car or by plane, before meeting any attendant; at the airport you will find slot machines in every corner. I remember years ago, I took a taxi which had a screen behind the driver’s seat so you could already start playing video poker: crazy. I haven’t seen them anymore; maybe it was just a new gadget. But the other times I always came by car.

To have a car is very important, to be able to move around quickly in Las Vegas, you my think the hotels are one besides the other; sure, but they are so long and on the strip you will make miles and miles at the end of your evening. My advice is to leave the car in a hotel parking (always free cost) visit the hotels around you and then move to another parking area and visit others. It is very nice to visit the hotels they are really beautiful, but are made so easy to enter but difficult to find the exit. Try to guess why? Well at the end the miles you make one the strip are nothing compared to how many you make inside the casino.

Las Vegas practically has all the comforts. During the day you can use the comforts as, the swimming pool at the Bellagio or the gardens of the Tropicana. Or if you prefer to relax, there are many things like the roller coaster that runs 300 meters (Stratosphere) in the middle of the sky scrapers (New York New York). During the evenings the shows of cabaret (in English language), the musicals Broadway style and the famous artist concerts, the nights are also full of less cultural shows “Lap Dance” or “Tease” advertising the best back bottoms in the world. In this panorama the casino remains the principal attraction. Open every hour of the day and of the night, non stop. You are welcomed from the moment you arrive at the airport to the doors of the hotels, to the pools and the hallways to your room. The principal object is only one, to leave more money possible on their tables. Winning cars prime all over; Harleys hanging over your head. In Las Vegas you can rent everything: from a Ferrari to a “Hummer” military jeep. At Las Vegas as long as you pay you are taken on a thrown. It also is a town that permits enjoyment without spending a cent, permitting you the scenery of lights all over or the dancing fountains at the Bellagio, the pirates at Treasure Island or the Vulcan at the Mirage. This is Las Vegas; you can see it from different points of view. There are two choices of prices depending on the days you want to sleep. On weekend the prices double; so planning your stay decide the days of the week. For the rest there are two groups of hotels: 1) the most famous ones on the Strip, from Mandalay Bay (near the airport) to the Stratosphere; 2) the old hotel that you reach passing the Stratosphere (even if well held). The choice is depending on what you appreciate and your budget. If you have no problems the Bellagio is highly recommended. If you want to save I suggest the Stratosphere. I went there this year it was recently renewed, you can sleep with 35$ a room and your stay will be nice, Big rooms with marble bathrooms and very clean. Avoid the Circus Circus; it is old and not very clean. If you have extra days take a ride towards Rachel. It is already know because it is close to the mysterious Area 51. Don’t ask directions at Las Vegas because its, strange that no one seams to know its existence (or at least don’t want to take about it).

asVegas many other options for tours, the Grand Canyon by plane, but I suggest a tour with the bus if you don’t have a car. It is much longer, but much more beautiful. You will pass over the Hoover Dam (many think it gives all the energy to Las Vegas. instead it absorbs only 3% of the energy), crossing the forest of north Arizona. It is recommended. I’ve done both and dissuade flying to who is afraid of a very moving flight, due to the difference of the temperature in the air and over the valley. There is also a place called Zion to visit, but there is a very little time and don’t know what you can see in such a fast stop.
